01 Photovoltaic Inverter Market Prospect

02 Future Technical Route of Photovoltaic Inverter
Photovoltaic inverters have a variety of classification methods. Here, they are classified by production-side technology and applicable places. They can be divided into centralized inverters, string inverters, and micro inverters. Combined with multi-party data evaluation, the current photovoltaic inverter market centralized accounted for about 35 %, string type accounted for more than 60 %, the other is the micro inverter.
With the increase of IGBT power density, the cost of string inverter is reduced. At present, the cost performance of high-power string inverter can compete with centralized inverter. In 2021, the proportion of string inverter in the bidding of central state-owned enterprises is as high as 88 %. In the future, high-power string inverter will continue to replace centralized inverter in the world. By 2024 the string type will reach a ratio of 70-80 %, while the centralized type will tend to be stable at a ratio of 20-30 % and around 5 % are micro inverters.
After 2025, with the decline of micro-inverter technology and cost threshold, both centralized and string inverters will decline, while the proportion of micro-inverters will rise. It is estimated that the micro inverter will account for about 30 %, string inverter decline stabilized accounted for 50 %. The remaining shares are single-phase string inverters, and DC optimized hybrid inverters.
